If you could add staff, improve your neighborhood, help keep a kid off the streets and give him or her a head start on a career, and it wouldn’t cost your business a dime, would you do it?  That’s the premise, and the promise, of Boise Business Youth Unity Project (BBYUP).

The project partners with local businesses, non-profits and community members like you to provide Boise neighborhood youth with the opportunity to experience an internship in local businesses during the summer.  You get six weeks of energetic enthusiastic help in your business and the project pays their salary, unemployment insurance & taxes.  Neighborhood youth are hired and supervised by Portland OIC Rosemary Anderson High School, a local non-profit youth employment program.  A staff member from the program works with them and businesses like yours for the summer and helps ensure your mutual success.

The BBYUP has a six-year record of achievement, with happy employers and a crop of eager young workers ready to take on bigger and better challenges thanks to their experiences in shops like yours.

If the timing’s not right for your business right now, or you want to make an additional impact on the Boise community, BBYUP is also seeking donations to help support the programs, inspirational speakers from the business community, and restaurants to host weekly lunches for the participants.
